About La Gaulette Village
La Gaulette is a small, authentic, "vintage" village on the south west of Mauritius. Although it has grown to become a tourist village due to the unique shore line, it has kept its charm and friendly people. La Gaulette is 6 km from the world famous kitesurf hotspot of " Le Morne ", UNESCO world class heritage since 2008. Le Morne is also one of the nicest beach of Mauritius with a beautiful view on its famous mountain Le Morne Brabant. The village faces a beautiful blue lagoon and Ile aux Benitiers. In the heart of La Gaulette you can find nice little restaurants where you can taste the local cuisine at affordable prices. It has its own supermarket where you can get local and international products. It even has the biggest surf shop of Mauritius (Tou Korek surf shop). Centrally located between the capital Port Louis (40km) and SSR International Airport (43km).
